I am also reminded of H.L. Mencken’s quote- I may not have it exactly right. He said he always voted for the party out of power to give new crooks a chance.
Having said all that I still have glimmers of hope that we will come out all right. Particularly when you see what’s happening in the rest of the world. Remember this is a country that elected Millard Fillmore and Warren Harding but also elected Lincoln and FDR!
